Sustainability Statement
Murray and Willis understand that there is more to sustainability than just supplying materials and products during refurbishment that are environmentally and socially friendly. At some point in the future today's products are tomorrow's waste, therefore we use wherever possible materials that can be recycled when they have reached the end of their current lifespan and materials that can be sustained if managed in a properly controlled fashion, whilst fulfilling legal and moral obligations.

We will:
  • Build on our environmental policy by making sustainability an integral part of our activities
  • Integrate and propose sustainable solutions into our service to our clients
  • Make sustainability an integral part of the design and solution process in all our activities
  • Partner with clients in a proactive manner. We currently partner HSBC on an ongoing basis to reduce onsite waste, and ensure any resultant waste is recycled where possible reducing the volume of waste going to landfill
  • Manage our supply chain and encourage sustainability
  • Manage and maintain the company policy, to encourage our staff to promote, execute and improve our policy
  • Reduce our carbon footprint by encouraging the use of the train when attending meetings, arranging meetings geographically to reduce the amount of traveling by all concerned and limit meetings to only those who are necessary and use alternative means of communication; i.e., e-mail and conference calls
  • Minimise waste generation within our offices and on sites
  • Maximise the efficient use of energy and materials
  • Carry out an audit of our supply chain in order to build up a database across the whole spectrum of materials and products used in day to day activities to enable us to effectively manage our preferred supply chain
  • We will source all timber and timber products from suppliers that procure timber from legal sources and who can demonstrate an improving programme of sustainability in their timber related activities, and in turn whose supply chain can demonstrate membership of a recognised forest certification body; such as FSC (Forest Stewardship Council)

Sustainability Code for Suppliers & Sub Contractors

We also have a Sustainability Code for Suppliers & Sub Contractors which aims to provide us with the relevant data to manage our supply chain and by encouraging our supply chain to sign up to the code to develop an understanding and promote sustainability in all aspects of our working environment. A copy of the full Code is available upon request.

Policy for the buying in of Goods and Services
