Over the past number of years we have developed a close relationship with the owners of East Lodge Hotel & Restaurant and have undertaken refurbishment of many areas of this fine country house hotel. This has involved fitting-out 12 guest rooms, the dining room and reception area. The interior scheme was designed by hotel design specialist, Angela Amesbury, who is based in Warwickshire, with whom we worked very closely.

The privately owned hotel, set in 10 acres on the banks of the River Wye, was originally a shooting lodge on land owned by Haddon Hall, the home of Lord Edward Manners. Today, East Lodge is an award winning hotel that has been transformed over the last decade by the owner and his family who have worked continuously to improve the customer experience both inside the hotel and around the property’s extensive grounds.

Given the nature of the independent hotel we were limited when we could actually get on site to refurbish the property. The entire scheme was phased over a number of years and the works were carried out after the Christmas and New Year period, when the hotel closed for a minimal period. Typically the Wye dining room, reception and one of the guest rooms were refurbished in just sixteen days.

Overall, our scope of works included structural alterations, new mechanical and electrical installations, including ‘high end’ sanitary fittings in keeping with the period style of the property. New boilers, new air conditioning and distribution boards, as well as internal decorations were carried out to the owners exacting quality standards. Co-ordination of sub-contractors and suppliers was paramount to meet the programme deadlines, whilst at the same time ensuring that Health & Safety was not compromised.
