Central England Co-operative Framework
Central England Co-operative
Project Duration:

We have now been involved with Central England Co-operative on their contractors framework for eighteen months or so, undertaking a wide variety of food retail refurbishments and fit-outs within their extensive portfolio of properties.

One of the reasons the Central England Co-op chose Murray & Willis is that we have extensive experience of working in partnership on  framework contracts with blue chip  Clients and other contractors over our long history.

The refurbishment projects in this instance vary from approximately 50k to 250k working in occupied premises. Works are carried out predominantly overnight, from usually 10pm until 6am utilising both the nominated Co-op supply chain such as mechanical and electrical contractors and our own in-house operatives including decorators.

We also undertake new shell fit-outs with works being undertaken during normal working hours and as the scope tends to be greater in content; the average programme is approximately five weeks.

In some instances, we have reduced the size of the units to no greater than 2800 sq. ft., so that they can be classed as convenience stores and therefore are not subject to restricted opening hours under the Sunday trading act, which means extending their ability to open earlier and close later.

We actively engage in open contractor forums with fellow framework  contractors to share best practice ideas with the Client, their professional team and fellow contractors exploring amongst other things value engineering initiatives.

Richard Booth of Central England Co-operative said “Jacksdale launched successfully last Friday so on behalf of CEC I would like to take this opportunity to thank all involved for delivering this refit on time, on budget, to a high standard with no accident”
