Project:
James Clerk Maxwell Building, Office Refurbishment
Project Duration:
7 weeks

We recently completed an office refurbishment project for KCL within the James Clerk Maxwell Building in the Waterloo Campus next to Waterloo station.

The project took place on the 5th floor and was completed over three phases in a seven-week programme and houses a number of senior executives from the KCL team.

We stripped out the existing space working within the offices, including removing all of the existing partitions to create large open plan office spaces.

We then carried out the mechanical and electrical installation including new lighting throughout. Using our own in-house labour we meticulously installed all internal finishes including new decorations. All works were carried out on nights limiting any disruption to KCL.

Ruth Hallum, Chief of Staff said:

“Murray and Willis Ltd carried out extensive alterations to an existing office building to accommodate additional staff in an open plan environment. The project involved working outside office hours to ensure limited disruption to the current occupants over a period of around 2 months.

All the team members I encountered were extremely professional and helpful and the work was carried out to a very high standard. They showed great flexibility in terms of changes during and after the project. They caused very little disruption to operations and were always very quick to respond to any issues raised.

All occupants of the new space were very pleased with the result and we have had many others trying to move into the new space! “

“The recent refurbishment of the 5th Floor of the James Clerk Maxwell Building for Kings College London, has provided another example of Murray and Willis Ltd ability to deliver outstanding results for clients, at an agreed cost, whilst complying with all relevant standards.

I would have no hesitation in recommending them for similar projects to other clients. “
