HSBC Cardiff
Client:
HSBC Bank Plc.
Project:
HSBC Cardiff Central, Cardiff
Contract Duration:
13 Weeks
Description of works:
This project involved the internal reconstruction & refurbishment of this HSBC flagship branch in Cardiff within a listed building that would involve closely liaising with CADW, the conservation group in Wales.
The most notable part of the project was the creation of a new central architectural feature, a helical stairway, specially manufactured in stainless steel & glass connecting the three operational levels of the bank.
In addition, in order to maintain a similar aesthetic appearance, a new glass clad lift was installed to provide a disabled link between ground and mezzanine levels.
At the end of this project Mandy Fenton, the Project Manager from HSBC commented;
"Our competitors come and look at us and, well, they're probably quite jealous of what we've got."
