Description of works:
Murray & Willis have recently been awarded an £850,000 sixteen week contract to refurbish elements of Peterborough Museum, a highly acclaimed Grade ll listed building.
The core refurbishment includes stripping out the public areas, galleries and toilets, when this element is complete we will get to work on the structural elements of the project. These include strengthening the existing timber floor, allowing us then to install all new mechanical & electrical services including a new heating system along with air conditioning. Additionally we will be making general improvements in order that the building complies with current DDA regulations.
The overall cost of the project including the second phase fit-out is in the region of £3.2 million, funded by Peterborough City Council and the Heritage Lottery Fund. The project is being managed by Haley Sharpe Design on behalf of Peterborough City Council and Vivacity Culture & Leisure.
