the
project

We have been working for GIOMA UK Group who own both the GAUCHO and CAU steakhouse brands for several years and this project at GAUCHO Piccadilly, London was to refurbish a private dining room, first floor restaurant and creation of a roof terrace.

Their Flagship restaurant in Swallow Street near Piccadilly Circus is on four floors, including a basement. As a point of historical interest, the restaurant occupies the former home of the Spanish Ambassador to the United Kingdom and was once frequented by King Alphonso XIII of Spain. We found a number of original architectural features whilst stripping out the designated area, which were then carefully protected and encapsulated by the new finishes.

The private dining area on the first floor was, as you would expect for an establishment of this quality and prestige, finished with feature lighting, chandeliers, specially designed mirrors and plush cut pile carpet to create a cultured dining experience.

Within the main restaurant area on the first floor the air conditioning units and the Bose music system, installed by our quality approved specialist subcontractors, were finished in black and camouflaged by the feature ceiling which was installed by our in-house operatives.

There are feature mirrored ceiling sections with specialist lighting and chandeliers, along with eight circular booths finished in either leather or cowhide which is a common theme in all GAUCHO restaurants.

We installed a raised plinth to divide up the area separated by a stunning feature balustrade finishing the area off with marbled and mirrored wall panels.

On the second floor we utilised some redundant outside space and formed two large openings within the restaurant to create a terrific external lounge/terrace area with feature fireplace and extendable canopy. This in turn protects quests in inclement weather with black and white feature tiles installed in keeping with the brand standard.

This whole area was then completed with the supply of comfortable leather seating for guests to relax before or after a meal.

We are currently undertaking a number of projects for GIOMA, which we believe is testament to the quality of our finish and the professionalism of our in-house staff and site based teams.
